Been dining at this establishment for many years with my family when in town . Nice portions, food is very good as was the service. Old fashioned decor which I like. A very solid neighborhood Italian restaurant choice. Prices are reasonable as well.

Food- 4/5 Besides a steak with cheese, their food is constantly delicious and filling! First they bring out bread. I put the butter in the basket to warm it a bit. The clear milk punch although it didn't come with earl grey tea and plain tea instead, it was delicious. 5/5 would recommend! As time has passed, I am still tasting it! Lasagna is delicious. Spaghetti and meatballs were tasty. Excellent 2 course lunch special with salad and main for $15! 3 courses for $5 more if I'm not mistaken. Delicious and cost effective- WOW! Service- 4/5 Always great service with attentive waiters. Seated right away and even if I come without a reservation, never waited long. Ambiance - 4/5 Love that it's both spacious and intimate! Feels like eating in a dining room at a family members home. 2 thumbs up and always look forward to returning.

I recently dined at Venere and had an excellent experience from start to finish. Made my reservation through OpenTable, and was warmly greeted by the owner, Frank, who really makes you feel at home. Our server was incredibly attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. The best part? Everything is homemade. The bread alone was so good, I could eat it for days! We started with the Clams Casino, which was absolutely delicious. My husband enjoyed the Sunday special, and I had the Penne alla Vodka, both dishes were fantastic. We ended with a rich and creamy Italian cheesecake that was the perfect finish. The restaurant has an old-school Italian vibe, making it a wonderful spot whether you're out for a casual meal with a large group or a romantic date. Highly recommend!

I had never been to Venere but my brother and sister-in-law love the food there so we went ( from Huntington) for a casual family birthday dinner. Homey atmosphere, friendly staff and general old school feel of a nice neighborhood Italian restaurant. The food however is a cut above your local, wherever it is. Loved the basket of yummy, soft, hot rolls brought to the table. We tried the waiter's recommendation for a sampler appetizer. Nicely cooked butterflied shrimp, stuffed clams, sweet and not too bready and an eggplant rollatini that was light and saucy. It was a nice beginner. My go-to in a new restaurant is the eggplant parm. It tells me if I want to come back. Venere's is divine. Less cheese would be better for me but the eggplant itself was perfect. Not so thin that you could not taste it or so thick that it was like a stew. The coating was light and not at all oily or thick and gummy . So good. The branzino on broccoli rabe and shrimp the rest of the fam had was really really good too. Generous portions meant we each brought some home. We finished with some house made desserts. Creme Brule like silk and a tiramisu that was light and luscious. What a nice, nice meal. And the kitchen put a birthday candle in the tiramisu-nice low key touch. No singing, thank god. I wish it were closer to my house but I will go back. It is worth the 25 min drive.

Came here the other day with a friend and had a very enjoyable experience. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. I had the braciole which was tender and flavorful. My friend had the veal which she loved. The homemade crème brûlée was yummy as was the tiramisu. The ambiance is welcoming. Definitely recommend!

Clemente our server was so friendly and funny. His recommendation of the specials were spot on. We had the steak which we normally dont order at an Italian restaurant but it was tender and cooked perfectly. We also had the veal parmigiana which was so tasty and a huge portion that I had to take it home. We also had the veal chop which was good and the pasta with broccoli rabe and sun dried tomatoes. Both of those dishes were too much for one ditto and we ended up taking that home too. We ended the meal with espressos and delicious dessert. Quite luscious The staff doted on us and we all enjoyed the meal. A definite place to return!

We hadn't been here in about a decade, but are happy we returned. As before, easy parking, Saturday night reservations (for four) honored. We sat at a table next to Botticelli's Birth of Venus (on the wall). They put out, and we enjoyed, what seemed like some soft fresh rolls and butter for the table. My wife ordered light, starting with a salad (that was mostly different types of lettuce). Her entree was zucchini noodles topped with shrimps, tomatoes, spinach and what looked like white cannellini beans - good except that it was too oily. She shared some of the tartufo for dessert, which is what she enjoyed the most. I was happier with my entree, chicken parmigiana, and asked that it be made with marinara sauce, to go light on the mozzarella cheese, but heavy on the sauce, and had spaghetti instead of ziti on the side. There were enough cutlets to save one for tomorrow, but I skipped appetizer and dessert, so I ate them all. The spaghetti was ever so slightly al dente ... just right. The decaf cappucino was perfect, even without the very good and complimentary slice of biscotti that came with it. Moderately priced. Experienced and helpful waitress. Improved over the years.

Went for my mother in laws birthday dinner with our family. Calamari and mozzarella and tomato were very good. I like mozzarella cut thinner but it had nice fresh basil shredded on top.. Definitely a clean fry on calamari. Our salad was a nice mix. Very crisp and fresh. My Aperol spritz was delicious with a nice slice of orange. I had the filet of fish which melted in my mouth. Highly recommend the fish. My husband had a pork over mashed potatoes he said it was a little fatty. My daughter had grilled chicken with broccoli rabe and garlic, very good. Others ordered chicken parmigiana and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. We had mousse dessert, cannoli and cheesecake which were very good. The decor is basic.. nothing fancy but a a reliable local Italian fare restaurant. Wish the atmosphere was more lively but all in all thumbs up. Fish was fantastic!

It's been awhile since I've been here but always a favorite in the neighborhood. This time I decided to try something different and I got the chicken cardinale. Absolutely delicious lightly breaded chicken and a marsala sauce with eggplant tomato mozzarella cheese. Felt very light and didn't feel heavy when I was finished. I wish more people in the neighborhood would come out here and even then some traveling to the neighborhood it's right on Carmen Avenue right off the Wantagh Highway. This is a fabulous restaurant very family oriented and inviting. They recently did a remodeling the last couple years and it looks absolutely beautiful. Yes there are more centralized Italian restaurants not far away but this is way more intimate and delicious. I'll be back again
